New job listing service launches using .JOBS

Employers get a new economical way to publish jobs listings on the internet with universe.jobs

Over 500 leading employers have joined together to create a new free jobs listing service for employers.  Dubbed “universe.jobs” (www.universe.jobs),  the new platform consists of thousands of geographic, occupational and industry jobs sites ending with the intuitive .jobs suffix.  Examples include boston.jobs, nursing.jobs and insurance.jobs.

In order to qualify for the free job listing service, employers must first become certified as employers.  There are currently three ways to do this:

1. Join the Direct Employers Association, the non-profit behind this initiative

2. Participate in a state jobs bank.  For example, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts JobQuest service located at https://web.detma.org/JobQuest/Default.aspx

3. Apply for and register a .JOBS domain name.

Registering a .JOBS domain name is, by far, the least expensive of the three options available to employers.
