While some TLD portfolio applicants are pumping out extensions by the dozen, some of the new Domain Registries are focusing their efforts on just one TLD. This focus is most evident in their creative marketing efforts.
.BUZZ is a great example of one these new Registries. Bill Doshier, the Founder, has been finding creative ways to, well, create some buzz around .BUZZ. First, Bill has done a great job of recruiting Registrars, with the help of veteran consultant, Pinky Brand.
More importantly, Bill is not sitting back and relying on Registrars to do the heavy lifting of marketing .BUZZ. Bill has been active in speaking at various conferences and engaging the start-up community on Central Arkansas involved in strategizing on the .BUZZ business plan. These kind of efforts is what every Registry needs to do to stand out in the new domain marketplace.
