EnCirca Launches Whois Privacy Service

2014 is bringing some new changes to domain names. ICANN now requires that customer and Whois information be verified. Some of the new gTLD’s are mandating Whois privacy for their TLDs. In response, EnCirca is rolling out a new Whois Privacy service.

EnCirca has launched a new Whois Privacy services just in time for new gTLDS.

2014 is bringing some new changes to domain names. ICANN now requires that customer and Whois information be verified. Some of the new gTLD’s are mandating Whois privacy for their TLDs.

EnCirca’s new Whois service has these attributes:

1. The registrant’s name is replaced with a unique identifier that is assigned to the customer
2. The registrant’s email address is replaced with a unique email forwarding address, so that they will receive any email sent to their attention
3. The registrant’s postal address is replaced with EnCirca’s postal address

The Whois service is a fixed annual fee for the user’s account and may be applied to all of the domains in the account.
